Inferential Statistics Inferential Statistics The paper pertain details of qualitative researchreport on the topic “inferential statistics and librarianship." The main purpose of the research that is identified is that this research attempts to conclude the 21st century academic and public librarians. Who have knowledge and understanding of inferential statistics and whether they need active knowledge for inferential statistics in their research. In this research report, the author support his research topic by relating it to previous research taken by other one of them was about the use of inferential statistics in the literature of any field that can be used as an indicator, and it is scientifically oriented in that field.

The method to collect data that was used in this research report is Questionnaires. There are many research questions in this report but the main research question is: To what extent are librarians the authors of research articles that make use of inferential statistics (Dilevko, 2007).The researcher used statistical and mathematical analyses to compare and relate scores or measures. Different statistical tests were used in the procedure to analyze the research purpose. It can be said that the analysis confirm the hypothesis.

The results were clearly stating that the use of qualitative researches in libraries is not effective, but the use of quantitative research methods by the library professionals are more effective to use inferential statistics. However, the mix uses of quantitative and qualitative methods in libraries are more essential and useful. The quantitative based trends will grow librarianship, and academic and public librarians need a strong grounding in inferential statistics. The other researchers can research on the basic duties that can be performed with the use of inferential statistics to manage the leadership positions.
