The paper 'The Leading Online Retailer of the UK' is a perfect example of a management research paper. Technological advancements have changed how the business operates in today’s world. With the introduction of electronic commerce or online shopping, there have been several changes in different industries, including the retail industry. The United Kingdom's retail industry is one of the most important industries considering the amount of revenue it contributes to the economy and the number of employees it has generated.

The introduction of eCommerce has benefitted both the consumers as well as the retailers. For retailers, it has provided another way to target the consumers and attract them through their website, and thus it has helped increase their revenues. On the other hand, the trend of online shopping has been beneficial for consumers. It has provided an easy method to shop online. It has allowed consumers to buy items without traveling, thus reducing the time involved in the shopping of goods. However, with the introduction of technology, particularly eCommerce, small businesses can start their own business and offer goods to the consumers as it requires lower cost.

This has encouraged small businesses to manage their online shops and start imposing threats to the traditional retailers who have not started their online shop. This report will analyze the leading online retailer of the United Kingdom, Shop Direct group, and how the group has successfully made the most advancements in technology. Shop Direct Group (SDG) is the largest online retailer in the United Kingdom. SDG is also the largest home shopping company in the country, having its head office in the Speke area, in the city of Liverpool in Merseyside.
